Absolutely. I will confirm your desired hemisphere on a post project survey and adjust the face accordingly. The hand always points to the present day - and it’s the present day everywhere on the planet at once at this scale - so the only thing that changes is that the face flips 180 degrees.

I can't stand ticking clocks...Does TODAY tick? Does it make noise every second?
Short answer: no
Long answer: Besides the art itself and print quality, this is the most crucial element of the design. As far as I am concerned, if you can hear TODAY “tick-tocking” it utterly defeats the purpose.
I’ve purchased and made prototypes out of every existing 24 hour movement in the world that I could acquire. With each movement - I would print the latest version of the design and build a clock. After living with it for several weeks, if I could hear it consistently - I would eventually have to move it to the discard pile. There were no existing 24 hour movements that were quiet enough.
That’s where the team of German engineers that designed and manufactured the world’s first 365 day movement stepped in. The prototype they developed is extremely quiet. If you hold it against your ear, you will hear the clicking - but at arms length it is dead silent.
This is a critical detail for me and I felt comfortable launching the Kickstarter only because I have in my possession a prototype movement that uses custom “soft gears” to dampen the sound even more.
Beyond having the world’s quietest 24 hour movement - efforts will be taken to dampen any chance of sound echoing within the clock body. The movement will rest in a custom cradle that is made of sound dampening foam.
After all of this I can 98% guarantee that there will not be a noise issue. i currently have a desk clock version of TODAY an arms length away on my standing desk and I cannot hear it - and that is before the “soft gears” & sound dampening cradle.

Sunrise and sunset change a lot throughout the year, how does the design of TODAY take this into account.
The design of TODAY is inspired by the impossible beauty of how night becomes morning, morning becomes day, day becomes evening and evening becomes night.
TODAY is a ode to the soft dissolve of one phase of the day into the next. The challenge of the design has been to get the “feeling” of time right. The gradual dissolves between phases of the day exist in this design to form a balance point, a horizon that quickly becomes a new and refreshing reference point to gauge your day.
Although the times of TODAY alway line up at 6am - noon - 6pm and midnight etc - the gradient is not meant to be an extremely accurate representation of the actual sunrise and sunset throughout the year for where you live.
It is more of a suggestion that makes space for you to form a new sense of balance.
Since last summer I’ve tested several dozen designs over time by living with them to “feel” the arc of day in this new way. The final art as you see it now is the result of that experimentation.
The graphic is fixed and is not meant to change throughout the day to mark the ever changing times of sunrise and sunset. This is more about forming a romantic relationship with time, so that you can begin to look forward to each day, as if it were your first.
TODAY is a new frame of reference for how you relate to time.
My grocery store has 31 different kinds of ice cream - why do we limit our perception of time to only one flavor?

I want a particular reward that you are not offering - how can I pledge for exactly what I want?
I have been getting this question a lot (thankfully!)
On day one of the launch I started making specific reward tiers for special requests. At this point I do not want to make any new reward tiers as it already feels a bit confusing. I don’t like it when I go to a Kickstarter that I want to back and the rewards are all over the place.
So the solution is to choose the reward level that is closest to what you want and includes the key items you hope to get. If you want to add say, a 5” desk clock of ThePresent - simply increase your existing pledge to reflect the listed price of the clock. For example you would increase your pledge $88 to add and extra desk clock or whatever additional item(s) you have in mind.
Producing the movements in Germany and having the clock bodies manufactured and assembled in Brooklyn, NY makes it impossible for me to offer any further discounts than the already heavily discounted Kickstarter backer prices that are on display.
However, if you do add items to your pledge - I will still honor the shipping costs that are stipulated in your reward (within reason). The shipping costs as they stand are the exact prices USPS (International) & FedEx Ground (Domestic) charge.

This is pretty customary, but for backers living in countries with import duties and taxes, these costs will have to be covered by the backers at delivery.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
